Have you ever been on the ocean and been surrounded by a pod of playful dolphins? You can see them zip effortlessly through the water. In this piece I combined the experience of swimming with dolphins and sailing with them into a single split-view 3D render. The boat is the Rainbird, designed and built around 1948. My grandfather left me copies of the blueprints from a magazine serendipitously published the day I was born in 1951. I was actually able to find video online of the craft still in use and used it as reference for the computer model I made for this render. It is available as a 19.25 x 16.25 inch giclée paper print in 24 x 30 inch archival mat or 11 x 14 or 16 x 20 inch metal print.
